Verse Of The Day: Now those who belong to Christ have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, let us also behave in accordance with the Spirit. Galatians 5 : 24 , 25
LISTEN: Everything on the earth is known by its identity. In the same, we humans are known by both our individual and cooperate identities. Without identity there could be no classification of objects and trace of origin. Truly, everyone has his or her origin or identity, and until one is ready to discover and stay conscious of it, abuse will be inevitable. Beloved, do you know who you are? Do you know your identity? But we (Christians) knows who we are, we belong to Christ, therefore should pursue His purpose. Jesus Christ was crucified because of our sins and redemption, leaving us an example of suffering for His name. He wants us to live differently from the people of the world who does not know God. He wants us to shine the gospel light to the world by living in line with the will of God. Those who belongs to Christ, that is, all genuine christians, those who are ingrafted into Christ by faith and united to him, have crucified the flesh. This means that they are so far from obeying the dictates of the flesh and acting under its influence. They have done away with their sensual appetites and have nailed them to the cross of Christ where everything came to an end. They are no longer slaves to sin, but has been delivered from the power of sin and Satan.
By reason of Christ’s death and resurrection, and our faith in Him, our old man, that is, the flesh, with its affections and lusts, are crucified with Him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. (Romans 6 : 6). This means that God has truly planned to save all who believes in His Son Jesus Christ from all sins, whether outward or inward, with all the affections, inordinate passions and lusts, disorderly wishes and desires, etc. God wants to purge us from all that is contrary to love and purity; and all that we may desire contrary to moderation, self-denial and Christian character. He wants our desires, affections and passion to agree with His will. That is how He wants every believer in Christ to live. If we profess to believe Christ’s spiritual religion, let us walk in the Spirit. That is, show in our lives and conversation that the Spirit of God dwells in us. Beloved, let us manage all our activities according to the guidance and direction of the Holy Spirit of God. So that as those who only live in the flesh, walk in and after the flesh, and its inclination; so we who live in the Spirit ought to produce, and will produce fruits suitable to whom we believe, what we believe and the Spirit that dwells in us.
