Verse of the Day: Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless his Holy name. Bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not all His benefits…and tender mercies. Psalms 103 : 1 – 4

LISTEN: Everyone irrespective of race, background, colour, belief, etc. should thank God for His grace and goodness towards mankind. Unfortunately, rather than thank God for His blessings, we tend to count our losses, misfortunes and miseries than we count our mercies, miracles and blessings. Oh! How quick we are to forget the Lord’s blessings in our lives. We have the propensity to forget God’s goodness in our lives because of selfishness and greed. We always expect more from God because we believe that He has not done enough for us. What an unfair treatment to the goodness of God! In remembering the goodness and mercies of God to him, the Psalmist, David said, “Bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless his Holy name. Bless the Lord oh my soul and forget not all His benefits…and tender mercies.”(Psalms 103:1 – 4). Beloved, should we not respond to the goodness and mercies of God with gratitude like David did? Should we neglect or forget to thank God? Of course not! Nothing should stop us from appreciating God for all benefits received.

Beloved, do you ever appreciate God for His mercies? Do you have time to reflect on the goodness and mercies of God in your life?. Or have you allowed the challenges and trials of life to dictate your mood and actions? No doubt, people unavoidably encounters challenging times, however, those negative moments and ordeals of our lives must not blind our eyes to the countless blessings of God towards us. You may win the argument that you do not have any good reasons to thank God for, but that is because you do not know what God has done for you. Friend, there are many out there who are envious of you and wish that their lives should have been like yours. Beloved, it is time to drop the habit of ingratitude and begin to bless the LORD today for health, provisions, protection, life, etc.? To bless the Lord is more than just give praise to Him: it is to praise with affection and gratitude. This is what we the living should do (Psalms 92:1). We will certainly praise God if we consider his greatness, mercies and kindness. So begin today to praise God for all his goodness and mercies in your life and the lives of others. God bless you.
