Verse Of The Day: Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you. Isaiah 60:1

LISTEN: We should shine because God is with us. (1 John 4 : 4). Our God is light and we are children of light. Children of Light ought not to live in the congregation of darkness (evil). No one can do much in darkness because darkness limits, hinders and stagnates success. Until one is delivered from darkness, insights, direction and spiritual consciousness will be hampered. God is honoured when His children excel, but hurts when they hinder themselves by their thoughtless actions and decisions. When the children of Israel sinned, God gave them over to their enemies to be afflicted, but when they repented and confessed their sins to Him He intervened and delivered them. Subsequently, He challenged them to take positive actions and ordered them to both arise and Shine. The word ‘Arise’ as used here is God’s word of encouragement to anyone who has refused to make progress, improve and live a fulfilled life to the glory of His name. God designed this bible verse of the day to spur His people to greater heights. No one who is spiritually asleep can fulfill God’s purpose for his or her life. That is why spiritual reawakening is highly required.

God demands that His people wake up or arise from their spiritual slumber and possess their possessions. To arise in this context is to get up, or to come into being, or attention in other to be useful to God, oneself and mankind at large. This simply means that you should be willing and ready to wake up from your spiritual slumber and state of physical inactivity. God is our light who is truly represented by His Son Jesus Christ; His light shines in our hearts and the darkness of sin and evil cannot comprehend it (1 John 1:5). Therefore, if we walk in Him, we have nothing again in common with darkness because we have passed from darkness to light. (1 John 2:8). Beloved, there is no more time to waste in the territory of darkness. We have no business as children of God with the unfruitful works of darkness. So arise and shine, for your light has come. With God’s light of truth and righteousness you can find your way in this dark world, dispel darkness and fear; work with comfort, possess your possessions, etc. Beloved, you have no reason not to shine. Your life must reflect the light of God because the glory of the LORD is risen upon you. Therefore, I prophesy to you, this season, you will shine gloriously in every area of your life, in Jesus’ name.
