Verse Of The Day: And now, what do we have here?” says the LORD. “Indeed my people have been carried away for nothing, those who rule over them taunt,” says the LORD, “and my name is constantly slandered all day long. For this reason my people will know my name, for this reason they will know at that time that I am the one who says, ‘Here I am.’” Isaiah 52 : 5 , 6

LISTEN: Our God is the almighty and sovereign God. Most times He deliver and save people just to protect His own name from being ridiculed or blasphemed by his enemies and ungodly people. He is jealous when His name is taken lightly. When His own people are mocked and despised by reason of their misfortunes, miseries, afflictions and troubles of this life, He is minded to intervene to save His own name from being ridiculed. People tends to taunt (to reproach or challenge in a mocking or insulting manner) a troubled and distressed child of God with statements like,” Where is your God?” “Your God cannot help you.” “Your God does not answer prayer.” “Let me see who will save you from my hands.” “There is no deliverance or help for you.” (Daniel 3 : 14 ,15). These and many more are things people often say against afflicted children of God and therefore conclude that there is no help for them. Perhaps enemies have mocked and insulted you the same way, but I am here to boldly declare to you that there is hope for you in God. No one can drown anyone who is sailing with God. With Him you can navigate through ‘dreaded waters’ of this life. God can do anything to save and deliver His own humiliated people just to protect His own name.

Our verse of the day says, “And now, what do we have here?” says the LORD. “Indeed my people have been carried away for nothing, those who rule over them taunt,” says the LORD, “and my name is constantly slandered all day long. For this reason my people will know my name, for this reason they will know at that time that I am the one who says, ‘Here I am.’” (Isaiah 52: 5 – 6). Beloved, God is closer to you than you think. He remains who He is. His name is I am. When the Israelites sinned against God and were subsequently delivered into the hands of their enemies, who carried them away captives. The enemies thought that they overcame the children of Israel because they were more powerful than they were; not knowing that it was God’s will that the disobedient children of Israel be taken captives by their enemies. But because the enemies mocked and blasphemed the great name of God, God sworn to deliver His people for His name sake to the shame of the devil. Truly He delivered them and gathered Israel from where they were scattered around nations of the earth. Beloved, like the Israelites, are you being mocked because of some ugly situations in your life? Are your enemies ridiculously asking you, “where is your God?” Do not worry! Look onto God. You may not have qualified for deliverance, yet He will deliver you for His name sake. (Jeremiah 32 : 27). Surely, they that insulted and mocked you because of your miseries will come to worship at the feet of our God, wondering how you made it.
