Verse Of The Day: Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22 : 6
LISTEN: There can never be better tomorrow if our children are neglected today and carelessly attended to. The busy world has turned virtually everyone away from investing more in raising a generation of people (our children) who can effectively and efficiently face the future. Our children’ ability to face their future will depend on our own ability to give them directions through the needed training. A child without training is a child without purpose; and a child without purpose is a shame to human existence. Beloved, how much attention do you give to your children? How much value do you attach to their training? Do you care about their spiritual need and wellbeing as much as you care about their physical and material needs? It is important that we focus on our children’ training – both their spiritual and physical needs. We must not do one and neglecting the other. Our children are not safe and secure where morals and the fear of God are undermined.
What every parent owes his or her children is to show them the way of life and guide them to walk therein. Our verse of the day says, ” Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. (Proverbs 22 : 6). No doubt, parenting is one of the tedious and difficult job of parenthood; however, wise and God fearing parents give it the needed attention because they know their children’ future hung on balance without godly training. They are determined to show their children the right way that could keep them safe and secure even after they (parents) are dead and long gone. Countless homes had crumbled after the demise of parents because children were not shown the right way to life. We should focus on our children’ training. Teach them the fear of God and to respect human lives. We should teach them how to coexist with others and spread the love of God wherever they are. They must be taught to avoid immoral lifestyles and embrace morality and moderate lifestyle. They should be taught and guided until what they learned becomes their habit. So let us focus on our children’ training and their future will not be tragic.
