Verse Of The Day: My times are in your hand, deliver me from the hand of my enemies; and from them that persecute me. Psalms 31:15
LISTEN: Everyone is created for a purpose, and purpose is the reason for our existence. However, there are enemies of our purpose of existence. Their desire is to see us fail and die without fulfilling purpose. We can only overcome them when we realise that God who created us is alive and our life is in His hands. Beloved, no matter the force against you, God knows your time. He created you with specific and unique designs. Just as products are made with valid and expiring dates so are you. God is the one that defined us and determined our time long before we were born. No matter how clever, wise, strong, powerful and enduring anyone may seem, it will not change the purpose of God. It is God who determines your destiny: that is, the events of your life are under his control. Unfortunately, many behave as if they have taken the place of God in deciding the events of the lives of others. They kill, maim, persecute, destroy and do many harm to others because they believe that they are in control of the world. They put other people under undeserved pressure and inhuman treatment.
However, those who know their God will not be destroyed by the enemy. David was under such pressure and trouble when he penned this psalm. In spite of his trouble he said, ” My times are in your hands” (v.15). Although he was then going through series of afflictions from the hands of his enemies – King Saul, the Philistines, etc. Yet he believed that God was in control of the events of his life. David’s expression of our verse of the day was that no danger can happen to him without God’s foresight. He knows that God sees what is prepared for or meditated on him. He was sure that God will deliver him from his enemies. Beloved, do not be afraid of the wicked who has got some evil plans against you, your life is not in their hands but in the hand of God. Do not worry yourself because of your enemy’s threats, instead worry yourself over your relationship with God. If you are good with God your enemies can do nothing without God knowing. Always remember that your life is in the hand of God not man’s. So, let us like David say, my life is in the hands of God. Beloved, trust me, if you trust the LORD you will live in safety and no one can cut short your time on earth.
