Verse Of The Day : So whoever knows what is good to do and does not do it is guilty of sin – James 4 : 17

LISTEN: Knowledge without application is an error. The beauty of knowledge is in its right application. If we listen to the voice of conscience, we will always do what we found to be good in the sight of God. Why we seek to know is to know what to do in a given situation. Therefore, when what we know cannot affect our actions positively we know nothing. God does not delight in condemning anyone. He does not take pleasure in destroying those He spent His time to create. He only wants us to follow His will for our life. God is not just finding faults with us, but guiding us against evil. Beloved, is He a God that is interested at fault finding? Are His commands to man grievous? Of course not! His commands are for our own good. God gave every human a conscience to differentiate the good from the bad. We are guilty of sin when we ignore the voice of conscience and decide to act at variance with it. When we have the right knowledge but chose not to act on what we know it is an error. Our knowledge about anything is useless if the acquired knowledge cannot produce positive results. Beloved, no one can deny being aware of the good and the bad, we are only being stubborn to the leading of the Spirit of God. The bible says, ” He has told you, O man, what is good, and what the LORD really wants from you: He wants you to promote justice, to be faithful, and to live obediently before your God.” (Micah 6 : 8).

God has given us the ability to know what is wrong and right; so if we chose to do the wrong, it is because we chose to disobey Him. When you know what is good and choose not to do it, it is a sin to you; that is, you are breaking the law of God. Beloved, many will go to hell not because of the sins they obviously committed, but because of what they failed to do. Failing to do what you should do,makes you guilty of sin. What our bible verse of the day simply means is that, the ability to do good in any situation imposes on us an obligation to do it. If a man understands what his duty is, and fails to do it, he is guilty of sin before God. Are you called to be a pastor? You have a duty to feed and watch over the flock of God in your care ( Acts 20 : 28 ). Are you privileged to be a parent? You are called to train your child or children as the case may be to the glory of God ( Pro. 22 : 6 ). Are you a school teacher or lecturer? Make sure you sincerely give your pupils or students the required information and knowledge that you are hired to render. Are you an employer of labour? Present what is honourable before men and give your employees their due. ( Matt. 10 : 10 ). Whatever your calling is, if you fail to do it for any reason, you will account for it before God the moment you leave this world. So, whatever you know how to do, whether in the church, family and the society at large, do it to the glory of God. Remember, you may not have the opportunity anymore. Do it now or never ( Eccl. 9 : 10 ).
