Verse Of The Day: As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Revelation 3:19

LISTEN: Every genuine child of God cannot resent the loving rebuke of God. God chastens and rebukes His children to give them directions. Why He guides His own is to stop anything that will endanger their future and faith in Him. God does not play with what He holds dear and close to His heart. He cherishes His children very much that He sees them as the apples of His eyes. God cares about the future of those who belong to Him. His love for them will move Him to do whatever that will bring the best in them, and that includes, applying some measure of discipline to guide their conducts and behaviours. Beloved, being a child of God does not exclude you from His discipline and rebuke, instead, it qualifies you for it. A loving and good father can give anything to make his child happy, but cannot stop to correct or discipline him or her when he or she goes wrong. Parental love is not complete where child’s discipline is neglected. Good parents will guide their children to the future they are created to fulfill. That is equally what God does when He rebukes and chasten His own. Beloved There is no future for any child who lacks fatherly rebuke and chastisement. In the same way, those who resent the discipline of the LORD have no business or relationship with Him (Proverbs 3 : 12 ; Hebrews 12 : 8).

Let us learn to submit to the discipline of the LORD. As a good and loving Father, God cannot allow us to do just anything we want to do, but must warn us against doing the wrong thing and sometimes discipline us for refusing to follow His will. Unfortunately, most times we get angry and choose to resist and disobey Him instead of submitting to Him in obedience. We want to have it our own ways. But because He has a good plan for us, He will not allow us to jeopardise our future by doing wrong things. That is why He said, ” As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” (Revelation 3:19). Beloved, if God disciplines you, it is because He loves you. If He rebukes and chasten you, it is just because He loves you. Therefore, accept His discipline. (Job 5 : 17). Do you know why God chastens (correct by punishment or suffering) us? It is because, He wants us to be useful both to Him and to ourselves. Therefore, let us be zealous and repent.”(Revelation 3:19).
