Verse Of The Day: Rise up, LORD! Confront him! Knock him down! Use your sword to rescue me from the wicked man! Psalms 17 : 13
LISTEN: When the wicked fights the righteous, he (the wicked) believes that he will subdue and destroy him (the righteous). Unknown to him (the wicked) that God is the strength and protector of the righteous. When the wicked roar against the righteous like a Lion, Christ the Lion of the tribe of Judah will certainly rise in his defense. When men say that their is no hope for the righteous, God will lift him up from the dungeon. (Psalms 3 : 2 , 3). He will disappoint the plans of the wicked against anyone who trust in the living God. In our verse of the day, the Psalmist said, ” Rise up, LORD! Confront him! Knock him down! Use your sword to rescue me from the wicked man!” (Psalms 17 : 13). Beloved, the wicked or your oppressors may appear stronger than you, but our God is stronger than the wicked. (Psalms 18 : 2 ; 61 : 3). He will arise, confront, disappoint and knock down the wicked for your sake. Besides, He will rescue you by His sword, which represents His word and judgment.
God is too powerful for the enemy to comprehend. His ways are mysterious. He is a strong tower and a hiding place for the righteous in times of troubles. Anyone who trust in Him is safe and secure. He protects and preserves His own as the apple of His eyes. He will contend with those who contend with His faithful children. The Bible says, ” Thus says the LORD, your redeemer, and he that formed you from the womb, I am the LORD that makes all things; that stretches forth the heavens alone; that spreads abroad the earth by myself; That frustrates the tokens of the liars, and makes diviners mad; that turns wise men backward, and makes their knowledge foolish;” (Isaiah 44 : 24 , 25). Beloved, no matter how strong, ‘wise’, deceptive and destructive the enemy might be, God will certainly disappoint him if you can only surrender and embrace Him as your God instead of the devil. God bless you.
