Verse Of The Day: Endure your suffering as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is there that a father does not discipline? But if you do not experience discipline, something all sons have shared in, then you are illegitimate and are not sons. Hebrews 12 : 7 , 8
LISTEN: Why would God want to punish you when you sinned? Why would He correct you by disciplining you for your wrongdoing? Why would He not allow you to live anyhow you like? The answer is simply, “because He loves you.” His love for you is the reason why He will not allow you to stray from His purpose for your life. Obviously, God guides His own jealously. He does not play with His beloved children. He cares about the future of those who belong to Him. His love for us will move Him to do whatever that will bring the best in us. That is why He often apply some measure of discipline to guide our conducts and behaviours. Beloved, being a child of God does not exclude you from His discipline and rebuke, instead, it entitles you to them. God will do anything to keep His beloved children on the right path. Hence they (we) should be willing to obey and follow.
God corrects and guides us like a good father would guide his own child in the right direction to better his or her future! (Proverbs 3 : 12). Unfortunately, most times people get angry and choose to resist and disobey God instead of submitting to Him in obedience. They want to have it their own ways. But because He has a good plan for mankind, He will not allow us to jeopardise our future by doing evil and abominable things. That is why He said, ” As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.” (Revelation 3:19). Beloved, if God disciplines you, it is because He loves you. If He rebukes and chasten you it is just because He loves you. Therefore, accept His correction. (Job 5 : 17). Do not question or resist His decisions, because He knows what is best for us. Learn to surrender to His authority and you will not regret it.
