Verse Of The Day: And he says unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.
Matt. 4:19

LISTEN: Are you working with Jesus Christ? Do you know that Jesus Christ is still about His Father’s business until now? And that His interest is in saving Satan’s captives for the kingdom of God? This is the reason why He spent some years with mankind on the earth to deliver, and to show His disciples how to deliver people from the power of darkness through the gospel of the kingdom of God. He commissioned them to this purpose as He prepared to ascend to heaven. Before that, not too long that He ended His forty days fast in the wilderness after His water baptism that he began his earthly ministry of preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God. The first set of people He met were two brothers at the sea of Galilee, Simon called Peter and Andrew his brother as they were doing their normal fishing business on the sea, for they were fishermen. The moment He saw them he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (v.19). Jesus Christ was not just calling them to change their line of business, but to be trained as devoted and professional soul winners for the kingdom of God.
When they surrendered to Jesus Christ, He in turn transformed them into useful instruments for the kingdom of God. They were turned into rugged and stout Evangelists. (Luke 10 : 1 – 17 ; Acts 8). They went down the valleys and high mountains to preach Christ, the love and lamb of God to the world; and because they suffered for Jesus Christ, He both made them earthly and heavenly useful. He made their relevance to extend to eternity. Beloved, the disciples were desperate soul winners who understood that time is too short and sinners must be saved. As disciples of Christ, we should have same mindset and interest. We should go to work with Christ. The business of reaching out to the world is the responsibility of all believers in Christ not just Pastors. We all are called to be preachers of the gospel; and our business should be to win souls into the kingdom of God. Beloved, let us not fail Jesus Christ; for He is our teacher and Saviour, our example, our friend; and above all, our rewarder. Our labour in Him can never be in vain (Heb. 6:10). Therefore, let us be serious in servicing this purpose without allowing trials and tribulations to deter us from following Him wherever He leads to save the lost.
