Verse Of The Day: So that they may follow my statutes and observe my regulations and carry them out. Then they will be my people, and I will be their God. Ezekiel 11 : 20
LISTEN: Do you think it is enough to just believe the right thing without doing what you knows and believes to be right? My dear, believe alone is not enough. Believe must be supported by relevant action to achieve a result. Today, we have more ‘believers’ than doers of the word of God. We have Christians who believe God’s word to be true, but finds it difficult to do what is required of them. Beloved, there is no sense in knowing the truth and living in error and falsehood. There is no sense in believing the truth but choose to live as though you do not know or believe the truth. When we deliberately choose to not apply a truth that is meant for application, we will end up deceiving ourselves and wasting our efforts. In the same way, when we believe the word of God but refuse to live by its truth, we are worse than those who do not believe the truth. Such is a life of hypocrisy, and God condemns it. The Bible says, ” This know also, that in the last days dangerous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy…Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof… (2 Timothy 3 : 1 , 2 , 5)
Beloved, God wants us to both believe and apply His word in everything we do. He wants us to obey and honour Him if we claim to believe His word. Every believer in Christ ought to live in line with the will of God because, God through His Holy Spirt has renewed our hearts to follow His will. We have no reason whatsoever as to why we cannot follow His will. God told Prophet Ezekiel that He will transform His people Israel and by extention, we believers in Christ to faithfully and obediently follow His will. The Bible says, ” And I will give them a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in them; and I will take the heart of stone out of their flesh and give them a heart of flesh: So that they may be guided by my rules and keep my orders and do them: and they will be to me a people, and I will be to them a God.” (Ezekiel 11 : 19 , 20). Beloved, let us not just believe the right thing, but both believe and do the right thing – the word of God.
