Verse Of The Day: Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4 : 7

LISTEN: The devil has always fought to keep mankind under his rule, but we should not offer ourselves cheaply to him because Christ has paid the price for our sins. We must fight and resist him with the power of God. Beloved, our battle against the devil is a lifelong battle. It is a battle of freeing ourselves from his dominance, and surrendering to the authority of God almighty. We must learn to resist the devil no matter what, because his business is to influence us to live in enmity with God through disobedience. Sadly, to live in constant enmity with God is to be doomed forever. The devil is very cunning, therefore, it is not possible to resist him until we have completely submitted ourselves to God. That is, to readily obey and follow His will at all times. No doubt, the flesh is at war with the spirit (Galatians 5 : 17), however, we can still choose what happens to us in this battle of our flesh against our desire to do the will of God. We can choose to surrender to the will of our flesh, or surrender to the leading of the Holy Spirit of God.

Beloved, whom you choose to surrender to will determine what dominates your passion, affection and appetite. If you choose the flesh over the Spirit, you will be attracted and attached to the things of the world, but if you choose the Spirit over the flesh (the carnal nature), you will be attracted and attached to the things of the spirit of God (Colosians 3 : 2 – 4). Beloved, never abandon God; because to abandon Him in favour of the world is to live without divine purpose; and anyone who is empty of divine purpose has no place in God. Do not hesitate to surrender to God. When you make the decision to submit yourself to God and resist the devil, he (devil) will have no choice but to flee from you. Beloved, you are not designed to fail, rather you are destined to win. Therefore, examine your life thoroughly and repent from being opposed to God, and henceforth determine to make amends where necessary. Rather than resist God, determine to resist the devil instead by submitting yourself to God.

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Constantly resist the devil in your life and he will flee.
2. Just submit yourself to God no matter the temptation to do otherwise.
3. Be focused and do not allow the ‘pleasures’ of this life to keep you away from God.
4. Continue the fight against sin and Satan and always rely on the LORD for help.

Daily Task: No matter the temptation to satisfy your evil desires, determine to resist and save yourself of eternal punishment occasioned by disobedience.

Daily Reflection: Satan is not as powerful as he seems. Rather, we make him powerful when we neglect or fail to resist him and cause him to flee.

Daily Prayer: Blessed Father, I thank you for a day like this. You are the most powerful God, therefore, help me to overcome the devil and his agents, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Daily Prophetic Declaration: You will make a difference. Today, I prophesy over your life, may God frustrate anything designed to keep you away from Him and His purpose for your life, in Jesus’ name.

Daily Quote: Because the war against sin and Satan in this life is an endless war, God therefore has given us endless power to fight by His word.
