Author: Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day: Wherefore, sirs, be of good cheer: for I believe God, that it shall be even as it was told me. Acts 27:25

LISTEN: Learning to trust God is the foundation of a relationship with Him. No one can walk with God without learning to trust Him. When God says a thing, that alone should settle it. Yes, just trust Him! A song writer said, “There is no other way, to be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey”. Trust and obedience to God are the power of faith. Anyone who cannot trust and obey God has no business with Him. God wants us to trust Him like a little child would trust his or her mother. Little children do not argue or doubt their parents ability to fulfill their promises. They do not see any inability to what their parents can do. Besides, they believe that everything is possible for them. In the same way, we should trust God at all times. We must not doubt His word and promises, because whatever He says He will do. Our trust in God will determine our obedience to Him. If we cannot trust Him we can hardly obey Him. Truly, whom you cannot trust, you can hardly obey. The more we trust God the more we can obey Him; and the more we obey Him the more we can trust Him.

Apostle Paul was in chains for the gospel of Christ, when they sailed for Rome to stand trial. Subsequently, they were caught in a violent storm that threatened their lives; because the passengers on board were no longer sure of their lives after several days in the sea, they lost hope and appetite (Acts 27 : 21). But Apostle Paul prayed and believed for divine intervention. He was not afraid like others; as a result, an angel of the Lord visited at night and assured him of their safety. Because of his faith in God, the next day Paul told his co-passengers that God was in control. He said, ” And now I advise you to keep up your courage, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only the ship will be lost. For last night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve came to me and said, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul! You must stand before Caesar, and God has graciously granted you the safety of all who are sailing with you.’ Therefore keep up your courage, men, for I have faith in God that it will be just as I have been told. (Acts 27 : 22 – 25). Beloved, no matter what you are going through, always trust and obey God, believe whatsoever He says and you will see His deliverance.
