Verse Of The Day: My son, if sinners entice you, consent you not. Proverbs 1:10
LISTEN: The world is very ‘wide and deep’ to be fully known. It is full of mysteries and wonders. Many things are beyond our knowledge and understanding, while others are there for us to discover, apply and live (Deuteronomy 29 : 29). Besides, because of Satan and his evil activities all over the world, we are to be careful, vigilant and wise. Satan is at work, he has his agents scattered around the world; as a result, careless people are entrapped and destroyed daily. Satan uses enticement to achieve his aim in the lives of people. He makes people believe that he has something good to offer when he has nothing good at all. Satan entices people to go against the will of God at the detriment of their own lives. To entice is to attract someone especially by offering or showing something that is appealing, interesting, etc. He (Satan) artfully arouse people’s hope or desire and make them believe that doing what he (Satan) proposes is the best for them. But you must not allow anyone ruin your life for you, instead, resist every sinful enticement.
Beloved, the word of God warns, ” My son, if sinners entice you, consent you not.” (Proverbs 1:10). We are warned to resist evil enticement. We must not travel in the ways of sinners. To travel in the ways of sinners is to travel to the land of destruction and misery. Beloved, be vigilant and careful. Watch your feelings and desires. Watch what moves you and ask yourself if what moves you is to the glory of God or for your pleasure and Satan’s praise. Follow things that will bring glory to God our creator and blessing to us His children. If sinners would take you out of the right way, do not go with them. When bad men try to cause you to sin, please do not do it. Evil is destructive and injurious, that is why the devil will not disclose its consequences until you are involved in it. Please open your eyes and resist every evil enticement no matter who initiates it. Do not do anything just because everyone else is doing it, do it because God is pleased with it.
