Verse Of The Day: My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. Psalms 49:3

LISTEN: Watch your thoughts lest you falter, fail and fall. Do not make room for senseless thoughts in your heart; because what your heart harbours will soon metamorphose into action, or words in your mouth. (Matthew 12 : 34). Beloved, do you know that your thought is the source of your action? Do you also know that unguarded thoughts can produce reckless words and actions? Besides, do you know that your words can heal or harm you and others? Beloved, God wants our mouths to speak wisdom and our hearts to reflect understanding. The absence of wisdom and understanding in our hearts is a demonstration of the absence of God’s Spirit in our lives. God’s Spirit is expressed by wisdom and understanding. Therefore, we should go to God to seek wisdom. The Bible says, ” But if anyone is deficient in wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without reprimand, and it will be given to him. (James 1 : 5). Truly, God is the source of true wisdom. Hence, when we exhibit wisdom we exhibit the gift of God.

In our verse of the day, the Psalmist made a votive statement and said, ” My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. (Psalms 49:3). He vowed to order his life in line with the will of God. Here, he speaks of his ‘mouth and heart.’ He acknowledged his heart as the center of thoughts, and his mouth as the channel through which his thoughts could be expressed; therefore, vowed to think and say Honorable things alone to the glory of God. Beloved, like the psalmist, do you watch your words? Is there wisdom in your words? When you speak, can people see and attest to the wisdom of God in your life? Can they see the understanding of your heart by your conduct and moderation? Can you personally see the evidence of divine wisdom and understanding in your life? Beloved, allow the wisdom of God into your life, and people will see His wisdom in your words and actions.
