Verse Of The Day: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1 Corinthians 1 : 18
LISTEN: Those whose minds are blinded cannot understand God’s purpose of salvation for mankind. They cannot see God’s plan of salvation through the gospel of Jesus Christ. (John 12 : 39 , 40). The gospel of Jesus Christ to the world is a revelation of God’s goodwill to mankind. The gospel of Christ is the message of salvation designed to bring an end to mankind’s miseries. It is the gospel of the Kingdom of God. This is the gospel that brings deliverance from the power of sin and Satan, and brings the redeemed to God’s kingdom of light. This is the gospel that Christians, the disciples of Christ proclaim all over the world. Because of its truth, the gospel is challenged by persecution from the world, as a result, many for fear of death find it difficult to truly proclaim, or accept it. However, this gospel of persecution, suffering and trial offers eternal life to all. Beloved, this gospel is a message of life, hope, joy and reconciliation to God. Those who receive the gospel (Jesus Christ) by turning from their wicked ways through faith are save by it. But those who reject the it (gospel) by considering it as foolishness will receive to themselves condemnation and eternal death.
Thankfully, irrespective of our sins, Jesus Christ came to reconcile us to God through his sacrificial death. (Romans 5 : 8). He came with the good news of God’s forgiveness to mankind and restoration of the paradise that was once lost by Adam. What a loving and compassionate God! He is willing to forgive and restore us to himself. However, his forgiveness and restoration depend on our faith in Him. Without faith, it will be impossible to please him (Hebrews 11: 6); besides, His message will not profit us anything. Beloved, God is calling everyone today to turn from their evil ways and embrace his Son Jesus Christ. He is the righteousness of God, because he bore our sins in his own body (2 Cor 5 : 21). Therefore, may we not take the preaching of the gospel of Christ as foolishness; but rather accept it and embrace Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
