Verse Of The Day: Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God. Philippians 4 : 6
LISTEN: To be anxious is to be afraid or nervous especially about what may happen. Anxiety builds when we perceive danger (s) . It even worsens when the danger or situation is proven to be real and life threatening. The mind is unsettled when faced with troubles or afflictions, as a result, thought of insecurity is heightened and hope tends to fade. Thankfully, we are not left without a helper. Our help is divine and reliable. However, only those who understand this fact can enjoy the peace of God in time of trouble. (Philippians 4 : 7). God knows that fear will certainly accompany feelings of danger, that is why we are encouraged to not be afraid or anxious but put our faith in Him. (Isaiah 41 : 10 ; 43 : 1 , 2). Beloved, what is it that is getting you anxious and afraid? Why are you troubled as one without hope? What happens to your faith? Have you given up on God? Have you surrendered to the wishes of the devil concerning you?
Beloved, be strong! There are better alternatives to fear. Prayer, petition and thanksgiving are God’s ways of handling troubles of this life. Our verse of the day says, ” Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God Philippians 4 : 6. Beloved, situations should not get you anxious and terrified. You have a God that is big enough to help you overcome your fears;trust Him! Fear has made us to abandon the weapon of prayer, petition and thanksgiving. The Bible enjoins us to pray when we are in trouble. The Bible says, ” Is any among you suffering? Let him pray.” (James 5 : 13a). We should make our requests known to God even though He is aware of them. We should honour Him as our Father by petitioning Him about our needs. Besides, we should thank Him in advance knowing that He has heard us. Thanksgiving is a powerful weapon of prayer. Those who in spite of their situations and sufferings can determine to pray and petition God, will overcome even the greatest of troubles.
