Verse Of The Day: Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. Psalms 1 : 1 , 2

LISTEN: How much do you enjoy the presence of God? How much do you obey Him and delight in doing His will? Beloved, God is willing to bless us if we are willing to obey and honour Him. (Proverbs 10 : 22). The blessings of God travels in the direction of the godly. That is, those who choose to anchor their hope and trust in Him. God knows the godly and delight in blessing them. God wants us to live a godly life. He wants us to have great reverence for Him; have a religious character; pious; and devoted to Him. Besides, He wants us to be deeply concerned with Him and the beliefs and practice of religion. God wants us to be godly, because he desires to bless us. If we delight in Him, we cannot do anything less than cherish godliness. Godliness attracts His favour. God’s blessings travels in the direction of the godly; just like every good parent will be eager to bless his or her obedient child, so also is God eager to bless those who shun evil and instead, delight in His righteousness.

Beloved, God is in desperate need of people who can represent Him well in a world full of ungodliness and all manner of wickedness. He wants us to make a conscious effort to live in His fear, knowledge and wisdom. In our verse of the day, the Bible stated clearly what those who fear God will do or not do. Firstly, they will not consider or accept ungodly counsel, advice, or suggestions from the wicked as an option at any point in time. Secondly, they will reject vehemently every counsel that will not glorify God no matter who gives it. Thirdly, they cannot align themselves with the wicked no matter what. It does not matter what they stand to gain or lose they are not willing to compromise their integrity. Their delight is in doing the will of God, meditating on His word, and living their lives totally to the will of God. (Joshua 1 : 8). Beloved, it is not a waste of time to obey, serve and revere God. Determine to persevere in the Lord’s service and you will be rewarded in due time.
