THE GAIN OF PAIN

Author: Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day: They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goes forth and weeps, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him. Psalms 126 : 5 , 6

LISTEN: Nothing good comes easy. Good things often comes with difficulties and challenges. Before joy comes pain. Hence, he who rejects pain cannot enjoy joy. From conception to the birth of a baby, a pregnant woman will certainly experience difficulties as a result of changes in her body system occasioned by the pregnancy. Besides, she will complain when her time is due and labour pain refuses to come. She knows that she needs the labour pain because it is the prerequisite to her delivery. When the pain finally occurs, she has to push to be delivered of her baby. The sharper the pain, the more a push is required of her; and every push brings her closer to her joy (the baby’s arrival). In her pain she will groan, cry and sometimes wish that she never conceived. However, immediately, her baby arrives she suddenly forget her moment of pain.

This is equally true about life generally. Some people will avoid pain and go in search of gain. They failed to realise that pain precedes gain. Our verse of the day says, ” They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goes forth and weeps, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.” (Psalms 126 : 5 , 6). This simply means that, to experience success in life you must invest your life purposefully. What you do should be done well if you must obtain a good result. Truly, life will give back to you what you gave to it, for whatever you sow you will reap. (Galatians 6 : 7). Besides, to succeed you should be diligent and hardworking because God will Bless diligent Hardwork (Psalms 126 : 5, 6 ; Pro. 22 : 29). Therefore, determine to invest yourself in others, in a good cause, in generosity, etc. Always remember that, “they that sow in tears shall reap in joy.”
