Verse Of The Day: Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Psalms 2 : 11

LISTEN: How we serve God is important to how He relates to us. Unworthy service will keep Him away from us, but faithfulness in His service will bring Him closer because, such is a mark of true loyalty to Him. God is forever looking for true worshippers. He is looking for those who will worship Him in sincerity and in reality. Yes, God is to be worshipped with awe and fear. Many claim to serve God today but do not have fear and honour for Him. Fear for God is a demonstration of true wisdom. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. (Proverbs 9 : 10). No man is truly wise who does not fear the LORD. The first prove or lesson of man is to fear God – that is, to respect Him. God must be placed the first in our lives. God should be our first choice in life. He is more important than our businesses, wealths, careers, etc. He is important than every other thing. God is greater than everything in life put together. Hence, when we make decisions, we should first think about Him. We should ask to know His will. Beloved, God cannot honour anyone who chooses to despise Him (1 Samuel 2 : 30).

God should be accorded the honour that is due Him. That is the first and greatest lesson of every man. Learning to fear God will teach us to be wise. If we honour God, then we will not be attracted to evil things of this life. If we have respect for Him, we will try to be fair and honest with other people. If we have sincere respect for Him, then the love of money will not control our lives; instead, we will serve Him with our resources. If we truly have the fear of God, then we will desire to learn of Him. Our bible verse of the day says, ” Serve the Lord with fear…” (v.11a). This is a divine instruction to all people of all generations. Beloved, we should fear God with a sense of reverence which is due to His supreme majesty. We are to serve Him faithfully and excitedly. The concluding verse of the day says, Serve God and..rejoice with trembling” (Psalms 2 : 11). Beloved, serving God should make us happy, not sad. Henceforth, let us live in line with His will, as we remember that He deserves our sincere worship and honour.
