Verse Of The Day: When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD has done great things for them. Psalms 126 : 1 , 2
LISTEN: Many are in captivity in the hands of the devil. They are prisoners to him not knowing their fixed day of release. They have cried for freedom but it seems too far away from them because of Satan’s grip on their lives. Truly, no one in his right senses will like to be enslaved, but somehow, we enslave ourselves by our thoughtless actions and decisions. The Israelites disobeyed God who brought them out of the afflictions of Egypt. They sinned greatly against His word and committed all manner of atrocities and wickedness in the land that He has given them by covenant. Ultimately, they provoked Him (God) to anger and He sold them away to their enemies who carried them away captives for several years. They serve their captors and ate ‘the bread of affliction’ because of disobedience.
However, when they repented and cried to the Lord, He miraculously delivered them to the chagrin of their enemies who wished for them to end as slaves. God turned away their captivity. That is, He ended their servitude and granted them freedom. Beloved, are you in any form of bondage in your life? Do you feel enslaved by the devil or any known person? Not to worry! This is your time of freedom, your season of jubilee. You will be delivered because true freedom belongs to God (John 8 : 32). The Israelites never believed that they will be out of captivity, but God did it for them because He is full of surprises for His people (Psalms 126 : 1). Then, they exclaimed, ” When the LORD turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream…” Beloved, like the Israelites, God has a surprise package for you. Your enemies are already aware of it and will testify to it. Just trust Him and you will be free.
