Verse Of The Day: Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory. And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.” Matthew 4 : 8 – 9

LISTEN: Satan is a schemer. His traps are scattered everywhere to catch those who are reckless with their lives. He deceives and destroys those who are ignorant of his ploy. A ploy is a clever trick or plan that is used to get someone to do something or to gain an advantage over someone. Satan has deceived and destroyed countless people by means of his ploy. He is too subtle in nature that he can influence men in such a way that they are not even aware that they are being influenced toward evil. He is moving round the world and deceiving people from different nations of the world. He is in charge of this sinful world. Jesus Christ called him the prince of this world (John 14:30). All over the world, he affects people’s attitudes by moving their reasoning processes toward self-satisfaction. He turns people away from following the will of God, to following his own will. Besides, he gives false information and stirs up our spirit towards evil.

When Satan demanded that Jesus Christ bow down and worship him to receive the good things of the kingdoms of the earth; he wanted him to be selfish and covetous against His Father’s will. However, Jesus Christ refused his unreasonable demand and maintained that God alone should be worshipped. No matter what, God should come first in our lives. Beloved, it is not evil to take care of yourself, the evil is in making the satisfaction of yourself more important than God’s purpose for your life. We are commanded to serve God above all else. Besides, we do not have the right to make, or think of ourselves greater, or important than God or other human beings. (Romans 12 : 3). Such attitude is satanic and condemnable. So, let us be careful because Satan can move us to the point that self-satisfaction will become more important to us than conforming to what God says is the limit of our authority. May we open our eyes to the ploy of Satan and not allow him to push us toward making ourselves greater or more important than God, the emblem of love, holiness, righteousness and truth.
