Verse Of The Day: So I say to you, Take no thought for your life, about food or drink, or about clothing for your body. Is not life more than food, and the body more than its clothing? Matthew 6 : 25

LISTEN: Beloved, do you know that worry is senseless? Do you also know that worry will certainly generate pain and suffering? Truly, worry is not safe for anyone because it kills joy and destroys life. Worry should be resisted, because no matter how we worry, nothing will change. We should not worry like hopeless people who have no relationship with God. But what exactly is worry? Worry is to think about problems or fears: it is to feel or show fear and concern because you think that something bad has happened or could happen. Sadly, worry never solved any problem, instead, it has always compounded and worsened situations. (Proverbs 15 : 13 ; 17 : 22). Truly, we worry ourselves over things we cannot control. We worry because we sense danger, or feel helpless over the situation. We worry ourselves virtually about everything, because things seem to be out of our control. But no matter the reasons for our worries, we should listen to the words of Christ and deliver our souls from the torments and consequences of worry.

Jesus Christ said to his disciples, ” Do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than its clothing?” (Matthew 6 : 25). Beloved, at the point Jesus was addressing His audience (his disciples) they were still struggling with worries for their various needs. However, he commanded them not to worry themselves about anything but rather trust in God. That is, do the things they can, and leave the rest to God. Besides, they were to acknowledge that God cannot fail to meet their needs; therefore, should pray for His directions and stop worrying about their needs. Beloved, worrying is useless and senseless. It is unnecessary, unhelpful and unreasonable. (Matthew 6 : 27 – 30). Worry is destructive, frustrating and a demonstration of lack of faith in God. Instead of worrying about your needs, pray and seek the help of God and certainly you will find help if you refuse to quit. (Phi 4 : 6 , 19).
