Verse Of The Day: When he entered Capernaum, a centurion came to him asking for help: “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, in terrible anguish.” Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. Instead, just say the word and my servant will be healed… Matthew 8 : 5 – 10

LISTEN: A centurion (an officer commanding a Roman century : a subdivision of the Roman legion) came to Jesus Christ immediately he entered Capernaum, and ask for healing for his sick, paralysed and agonising servant. Instantaneously, Jesus accepted to come heal him. But surprisingly, the centurion asked him not to come to his house for he is not worthy of Jesus’ visit; instead, demanded that he should speak the word and his servant will be healed. From this passage of the bible, we can learn the following: 1). That God is willing to heal because He cares for the sick (Mathew 8 : 7 ; Luke 9 : 11). So, do not allow anyone deceive you that God does not care and will not heal you or yours. Jesus told the centurion, “I will come and heal him.” (Matt 8 : 7). 2). Divine healing naturally follows the gospel of the Kingdom (Luke 9 : 11 ; Matthew 14 : 14). This simply means that anywhere the gospel of Christ is preached healing is released. So, no matter your situation, healing is possible if you can release your faith like the centurion.

Beloved, I want you to know that no situation is strong enough to resist divine intervention (Matthew 8 : 6 – 7 ; 4 : 23). If you can pray and trust God for your healing you cannot be put to shame. Determine to grow your faith and know that God answers to your faith, not just to your prayer. The centurion came to Jesus Christ by faith. He asked (prayed) for the healing of his servant just by the spoken word of God. He believes that God’s word carries divine authority, and therefore can heal sicknesses and diseases (Mathew 8 : 9); that is why he said, ” Lord, I am not worthy that you should come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.(Matthew 8 : 8). Just the word, and his servant was heal. Beloved, are you sick and needs healing? Or maybe trusting God to heal someone for you? I want you to know that faith is the currency with which you can purchase your healing (Matthew 8 : 10 , 13). So, acquire it through hearing and studying of the word and your life will not remain the same (Romans 10 : 17).
