Verse Of The Day: And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.- Luke 2 : 10.

LISTEN: Jesus Christ is a wonderful news to the world. His presence in the world inspires, energises, revives and restores hope to those who choose to accept him as Lord and Saviour. Good news is the medicine of the soul: it is a cure for bad news. (Proverbs 17 : 22). The greatest bad news to mankind is separation from God. Sin separated us from God and robbed us of our original inheritance – the paradise. But the birth and subsequent death of Jesus Christ has reconciled us to God. Praise God! The birth of Jesus Christ was announced by a divine messenger (angel of God), who was subsequently joined by myriad of angels to sing praises and worship Christ the new born king. His birth was declared to the Shepherds, and later on, to the three wise men, also known as the Magi who were led by a star to Jesus after two years. The shepherds were tending their sheep by night when the angel suddenly appeared with the good news and they abandoned all and went in search of Christ the new born king.

The bible gave an account of His birth thus: ” And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in strips of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no place for them in the inn…Now there were shepherds nearby living out in the field, keeping guard over their flock at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were absolutely terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! Listen carefully, for I proclaim to you good news that brings great joy to all the people: Today your Saviour is born in the city of David. He is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign for you: You will find a baby wrapped in strips of cloth and lying in a manger…”(Luke 2 : 7 – 16). When they heard the good news of the birth of Christ, they left their flock and hurried in search of the new born King, Jesus Christ. When they found Him they worshipped Him. Beloved, the birth of Christ is a good news not just to the shepherds, or the three wise men, but to the entire world, because his birth was the beginning of human redemption; which was eventually fulfilled in His death. Like the shepherds and the three wise men, let us come to Jesus Christ today to worship and to serve Him. (Luke 2 : 11).
