Verse Of The Day: For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever… Isaiah 9 : 6 , 7

LISTEN: Beloved, do you know that Jesus Christ was born both to save mankind and to reign as king in the end? His birth came with hope, joy, comfort, healing, restoration and life. Besides, his birth gives access to favour and opportunity to reconcile with God. He was born to call, cure and cleanse sinners. Beloved, the birth of Christ brings with it a lot of fortune for all who believe in him. Our verse of the day says, ” For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end…” (Isaiah 9 : 6 , 7). Beloved, Jesus Christ whom we celebrate His birth yearly was born for our sake. We are the reason He was born, bearing the plan of salvation with his own life. Therefore, we should receive him to be saved.

Jesus Christ was born to fulfill the purpose of God for mankind. He was born to bless and not to curse us. He was born to reconcile man to God. He was born to bring the government of peace of God to you and I. In the prophecy of Isaiah he said that he will rule over us His people, and bear our burdens. He will be our counsellor, our peace, our defender, our King, our God, our provider, our hope of eternal life. Above all, His Kingdom shall put to an end every other kingdom, and His Kingdom shall have no end. Beloved, the birth of Jesus Christ has established a Kingdom that the people of the world have not yet known. Only those who believe in Him will He reveal it to. Certainly, at the close of this age, Christ will forever reign as king and judge those who reject him. (2Thess 1 : 8 , 9). Beloved, as you celebrate Christmas, also accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Saviour, and determine to worship and serve him as long as you live.

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Do not forget that Jesus Christ was born for your sake; so, accept and worship Him.
2. Determine to surrender everything at the feet of Jesus Christ no matter what.
3. Cast all your burdens to Him and trust Him to carry you through the journey of life.
4. Do not spend your life on things that cannot save, rather, spend it in the Lord’s work.

Daily Task: Beloved, as you go about celebrating this Christmas, ask the LORD to come and reign in your life as King and Saviour.

Daily Reflection: Those who will not permit Jesus Christ to reign over them today as king, will suffer in eternal torment when He comes back the second time as a judge.

Daily Quote: To reject Jesus Christ as a merciful Saviour today, is to receive him as a merciless judge tomorrow.

Today In History: December 25, 1944 . Prime Minister Winston Churchill goes to Athens to seek an end to the Greek civil war.

SAY THIS: Today, I confess with my mouth, that Jesus Christ was born for me; and also died to save my soul from hell. Therefore, I will serve, obey and worship him all the days of my life, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Daily Prophetic Declaration: You will make a difference. Today, I prophesy over your life, nothing will keep you from serving God faithfully. As you celebrate this Christmas, the desire to faithfully serve the LORD will occupy your heart, in Jesus’ name.
