Verse Of The Day: As they came into the house and saw the child with Mary his mother, they bowed down and worshiped him. They opened their treasure boxes and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Matthew 2 : 11
LISTEN: Do you know that Jesus Christ is God, a king and a Saviour? Do you also know that he is all you need to be saved and connect with God the Father? At his birth all these attributes were expressed in the gifts presented to him by the three wise men. When they travelled in search of him and eventually found him, they presented to him Gold, Frankincense and Myrrh. Gold was a gift fit for a king. When the wise men arrived in Jerusalem they asked, “Where is He that is born King of the Jews?” (Matthew 2 : 2). They presented to him Gold, as a recognition that the child Jesus is the king of the Jews who is destined to reign because he has sovereign dominion over the entire earth. Beloved, the wise men offered expensive gifts to him. What can you give to Jesus Christ today? You should surrender yourself and all you have to him.
All you have should be completely laid at his feet. If all of your wealth, time, talents, etc. are not under His control, you have not recognized Him as your sovereign king. Beloved, Christ has a right to all you own. He is our King, Saviour and Lord. Besides Gold, the three wise men offered to him frankincense and myrrh, which were symbols of his sinless deity and his sacrificial death for mankind. He is King and they brought gold. He is God and they brought Him frankincense. He is our Saviour and they brought myrrh. Beloved, how will you serve Jesus Christ today? One way to serve him is to serve with your wealth. God designed our wealths and financial blessings to fund His visions and dreams on earth. Therefore, our possessions and worship belongs Him. Besides, we should share the good news of His Kingdom with others and encourage them to do same. Beloved, what can you do for Jesus Christ today? Remember, he is our Saviour, King and God. So determine to serve him faithfully.
