Verse Of The Day: You must put away every kind of bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, evil, and slanderous talk. Instead, be kind to one another, compassionate, forgiving one another, just as God in Christ also forgave you. Ephesians 4 : 31 , 32

LISTEN: The life of Christ is the life of God. It is a lifestyle created after the image of God. It is a kind of life that the unbelieving world have rejected, resented and hated, because it comes with great responsibility. It is a kind of life that is lived to please God by eschewing evil and sin. It is a life of sacrifice, commitment and dedication to the almighty God. Without putting on the life of Christ, which in other words is the new life, we cannot serve God acceptably. The bible says, “I plead to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that all of you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be all of you transformed by the renewing of your mind…”(Romans 12 : 1 , 2). Beloved, living the life of Christ is to live with a renewed mindset dominated by love, forgiveness, compassion, righteousness, holiness and the likes.

Putting on the life of Christ comes with a change of attitude, from the old to the new. The difference between a genuine Christian and a mere churchgoer is in their attitudes to the new life in Christ. A genuine Christian surrenders his or her life to Christ, therefore, is determined to replace the old life of sin with the new life of purity, righteousness and obedience to God. But the churchgoer sticks to the old life of sin and disobedience to God. When you put on the life of Christ, you have equally accepted the responsibility to put off certain attitudes and put on others. The bible says, ” You must put away every kind of bitterness, anger, wrath, quarreling, evil, and slanderous talk.” (Ephesians 4 : 31). This means that, we should deal with those little wrong we do, which we do not consider as great sin like – murder, stealing, adultery, etc.). Henceforth, let us put away evil lifestyles and put on the life of Christ – love, peace, gentleness, purity, mercy, compassion, and to forgive others the same way Christ forgave us.
