Verse Of The Day: Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. Philippians 3:13

LISTEN: Beloved, I am sure that before the year 2017 ended, you made a written or mental list of resolution of good intentions for yourself in areas such as, working on your finances, being a good wife or husband to your spouse, maintaining a good family relationship, being a good child to your parents, having a deeper commitment to God, etc. This is what most of us do year after year. We make resolutions on things we like to change or accomplish in our lives and in our walk with God. Beloved, no matter what, our resolutions for the new year should truly consist of Spirit-led commitments before the Lord concerning areas of our lives we need to focus on to further our own personal growth in the months ahead. The devil has not given up on destroying, tempting and distracting people from following the will of God. (1Peter 5 : 8). Therefore, we should be at alert and determine to follow through on our God-oriented resolutions for this year.

Beloved, what are the goals God has put on your heart for this new year? It would be good for you to write them down. Writing down your vision on paper often helps you nail down what you really want to do. If possible keep that paper in view as a reminder to help you stay on track and to regularly measure your progress as the year progresses till the end of the year. When Apostle Paul was called on his way to Damascus, he surrendered to the will of God and began to preach the gospel of the Kingdom of God around the world. He knows what his goal was; he knows exactly why Jesus Christ arrested him, and therefore resisted all distractions to this purpose. In our verse of the day he said, ” Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before.” (Philippians 3:13). Beloved, if you must follow through on your resolution this year, focus on Jesus and avoid every sort of distraction. (Hebrews 12 : 2).
