Verse Of The Day: For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost. Luke 19 : 10
LISTEN: Do you know that Jesus Christ is looking for you? He loves you and wants to bring you back home to God, His Father. The purpose Christ came to the world is to reconcile us with God. To break the walls of enmity between us and God. He came to seek and save the lost. In our verse of the day, Jesus Christ said to repentant Zacchaeus, ” For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.” (Luke 19 : 10). Christ came to seek the lost, that is, He came to look for us, the sons and daughters of Adam who were stolen from God by sin. Those He found, He is willing to save and restore. Truly He came to seek and to save. It was not an experimental gratification, He did not come to gain a fair reputation; or to obtain honour, but because He loves and cares about us. Christ has not ended His search for the lost (sinners). He is searching for the lost through gospel ministers today; and anyone who is ready to return will be saved.
Beloved, you belongs to God and therefore should come home. Jesus is waiting for your return. He came to seek and to save us. This is because of His pity to us in our lost estate, and providing means for us, in that He did not leave us to our wanderings, but carefully brought us back again to God (Joh 10:16). When He walked through the earth, it took Him diligence and pains to seek for those that must be saved (Luk 15:4). It took Him time and pains to find sinners, and gain their consent. A lost soul is not so easily recovered and restored from his straying. However, He committed himself to His assignment, to seek and to save. Today, He is still calling you. He is calling you by His word, for He comes as a teacher from heaven, to recall sinners from their wanderings. He is calling you to a life of holiness, obedience, faith and commitment. Beloved, do not reject this invitation, because this seeking and saving the lost is absolutely necessary: if He did not seek to save us, we would never seek Him. (Romans 5 : 8). Praise God!
