Verse Of The Day: The LORD shall fight for you, and you shall hold your peace. Exodus 14 : 14

LISTEN: It is an established fact that in this world we live in, no one can escape trouble or challenges: unbelievers and believers alike. Hence it is misleading to think that because you are a child of God you are not supposed to encounter troubles or challenges – there is no such guarantee. However, the guarantee we have as children of God is having an Almighty personality at the helm of the affairs of our lives, if we let Him to (John 16:33). This means that God cannot allow us to be wrecked by our troubles or allow the devil to defeat us in the numerous wars he wages against us if we trust Him and allow Him to be in charge. You need to keep calm and let him be in charge, the Bible says through ‘prayer and petition’ lay your worries at the feet of Jesus (Phi. 4:6; Matt. 11:28). Keeping calm in troubled times is a way of telling God you trust Him to deliver you from your troubles, and to fight your battles for you.

Unfortunately, many believers allow anxiety and fear to grip them instead. This is a tool Satan uses to shift their focus from God, filling their hearts with illusions of the worst possible things that can happen to them- causing them to panic. But as a child of God you cannot afford the devil such advantage and privilege! Look to God instead (1 Peter 5:7), raise your level of belief in God’s ability to deliver you, trust Him to. In our verse of the day Exodus. 14:14, Moses encouraged the Isrealites to be calm when they panicked at the sight of the Egyptians, and do we not know how God handled the situation? (Exodus 14:19-30). Child of God, that battle of cancer, pneumonia, or any other supposedly incurable disease is not bigger than God Almighty. Are you suffering from false accusation, dejection, childlessness, joblessness, or any form of stagnation? See God on top of the situation and He will not fail you. (Psa 46:1 ; Psa 9:10 ; Isa.41:10). He is fighting for you, you just need to Keep Calm.

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?

4. See God as bigger than all your troubles, worries and challenges. He will not fail you.
