BE OBEDIENT TO THE WORD OF GOD

Verse Of The Day: But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. James 1 : 22

LISTEN: Going to church is not a guarantee that you are a genuine child of God. True children of God are known for their willingness to obey and serve God with their whole hearts. (Matthew 7: 21). They are not mere hearers but doers of the word of God. They are not just churchgoers but Kingdom citizens. They are not forgetful hearers but hearers with a difference. Beloved, do you know that churchgoing will only make people church members, but faithfulness to God will make them Kingdom citizens? Therefore, as children of God, our lives should influence those living in darkness not the other way round. We should attract the unbelieving world to our faith in Christ by the way we live. When we go to church but refused to be transformed by the word of God, we deceive ourselves. Truly, self-deception is the worst form of deception. But having received forgiveness for our sins through the death of Jesus Christ, we should make an effort to grow our faith and sustain our salvation. The Bible says, ” So then, my beloved, even as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.” (Philippians 2 : 12). Beloved, as you hear, read, study or meditate on the word of God this time, allow it to influence your life. Henceforth, be obedient to God’s word. Be wise!

3. Endeavour to sustain your salvation by growing in faith daily.
4. Do not be a mere churchgoer, rather, be a faithful and obedient child of God.
