Verse Of The Day: Do you see someone who is hasty in his words? There is more hope for a fool than for him. Proverbs 29 : 20
LISTEN: Reckless words are destructive words. Truly, words are powerful, for they can create and also destroy. Words can create peace and also create crisis and conflicts. Words can pacify anger and can also trigger anger and violence. Words say much about who we are. They are expressions of our hearts. The Bible says, ” A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” (Luke 6 : 45). This means that the condition of our hearts will determine what comes out of our mouths. A pure heart will utter pleasant and life – giving words, but a contaminated heart will utter life-destroying words. People speak bitter and angry words, taunt and mock others, blackmail, insult, brag and lie all the times because their hearts are yet to be renewed. When our hearts are renewed by the word of God, our mouths will speak rightly to glorify God and bless mankind. Beloved, have you been watching your words lately? Please watch your words! Mind what you say to others whether great or small. Besides, mind what you say to yourself in times of trouble. No matter how much you are pushed by circumstances of life to confess otherwise, always speak good things into your life. Remember, words are powerful. You could be made or marred by your words. Be wise!
