Verse Of The Day: Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. Ephesians 5 : 11

LISTEN: In our Bible verse yesterday Jesus Christ urged His disciples to abide in Him and His word, and further stated categorically that without Him they/we could do nothing. (John 15 : 5). He (Jesus) said, “if you abide in me” ; that is, if you remain in me and have a close relationship with me. Friend, Jesus Christ is looking for those who can remain in Him. Those who will not be offended in Him no matter what. (Matthew 11 : 6). Those who are willing and delighted to worship God in spirit and truth. Those who are prepared to maintain a close relationship with Him and cutoff every relationship with the works of darkness. Truly, the Christian faith requires our total commitment and dedication to God. It forbids us to patronise Satan and his enticing and deceptive works. When he (Satan) dangles anything “good” before you, his intention is to steal, kill and destroy everything good in you. (John 10 : 10). Friend, be careful! This is why the Bible warns that we should have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. (Ephesians 5 : 11). We are now new creatures and have passed from death to light. As light therefore, we should reprove (criticise, express disapproval of; or correct usually in a gentle way) the works of darkness and not conceal or patronise them. We are to walk in newness of life and not adopt the ways of the unbelieving world. As children of God, let us aim at being fruitful for the kingdom. Be wise!

4. Determine to worship God in spirit and in truth as long as you live.
