Bishop Julius Okarike
Verse Of The Day : The LORD told Samuel, “Don’t look at his appearance or his height, for I’ve rejected him. Truly, God does not see what man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD sees the heart.” 1 Samuel 16 : 7
LISTEN : A noble man was asked why he chose an unqualified candidate over qualified ones to manage his empire. In response the man said, “I chose him because of his heart.” His heart? chorused the rejected candidates. What do you mean by “I chose him because of his heart?” They asked. The man gently replied, “He knows exactly what I want, he will not struggle to Obey; and he has love for others, respect for authority and the fear of God. He may not be qualified as you are, but I will qualify him for the task ahead.” (1 Corinthians 1 : 25 – 29). Beloved, in the same way God judges the heart of all. He is not like man who look at outward appearance. He is God. He searches the heart instead. He is not looking for the mighty, the most intelligent people, the sinless, the greatest of all ; instead He is looking for the humble, the obedient and faithful that He will qualify for His own purpose. When Samuel came to Jesse’s house to anoint a new king of Israel instead of the rejected King Saul. When he saw Eliab, Jesse’s first son he was convinced because of his height and appearance that he was God’s choice of a king; but God rejected him and subsequently his other brothers. But David, the unlikely person was anointed instead. (1 Samuel 16 : 7 – 13). Beloved, men may write you off, but God is still interested in you. The crown may not fit you, but because God has made it for you He will adjust it for your sake. You may not be qualify by human standards and accessment, but God has a place for you in His plan. So do not be intimidated. Be wise!
