Verse Of The Day : We have come to know love by this: that Jesus laid down his life for us; thus we ought to lay down our lives for our fellow Christians. 1 John 3 : 16
LISTEN : Greater love is the love of God. It comes with a huge price. It is sacrificial and very rare. (John 15 : 13). Anyone can profess love but only few can undertake sacrificial acts. Jesus’ love for us should be the standard of love for fellow Christians. True love is in what we are willing to sacrifice or do for the wellbeing of fellow Christians and others around the world. (Galatians 6 : 10). True love is sacrificial, without sacrifice love will lose its true meaning and purpose. Beloved, how much do you love fellow Christians? Like Jesus, can we lay down our lives for them? Can we risk our lives to save the lives of others if that is the only way to redeem their souls to God? Truly, people profess love but deny it by their unloving actions.
A story is told of a pastor who asked his congregation how much they love him, and everyone of them responded, ” Pastor, I love you so much and I can die for you.” The pastor exclaimed, “Really.” Determined to know their heart the pastor brought out a balloon and said, “I will fill this balloon with air and allow it to fly as we pray, and whoever the balloon touches God will make to die in my place.” The pastor ordered them to close their eyes and then released the balloon to the air. Every member of the church became apprehensive and prayed with one eye opened and watching the movement of the balloon. Anyone who the balloon wants to land on quickly blew it to another direction. After numerous avoidance with the balloon by the congregation, it finally landed on the pastor’s wife who took the balloon and rushed to the altar where the husband was and said, “Honey, please carry your cross.” The pastor was sobered and therefore said to the congregation, “Can you see how difficult it is to die for others? What is love if it cannot make sacrifice? But Jesus Christ did it for us. He knows we can do it that is why He set the standard. Therefore, let us love fellow Christians and others the way God loves them.” Be wise!
