Verse Of The Day : But other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty. The one who has ears had better listen! Matthew 13 : 8 – 9
LISTEN : No matter the increasing number of bad people in the world, you can still find good people; and no matter the number of people who have rejected and despised the word of God, there are still people who value it above all else, and are doing exploit for God. Truly, God is looking for those who in spite of challenges can still stand, speak out and be useful to Him with the gospel of the kingdom. He is looking for those whose heart is prepared to manifest His glory to the unbelieving world. God’s word is designed to transform and position us for His purpose. Our verse of the day talks about the last category of soil; that is, the last category of hearers. Jesus calls it ‘the good soil’ . The Bible says, “But other seeds fell on good soil and produced grain, some a hundred times as much, some sixty, and some thirty.” (Matthew 13 : 8)
Going further, He explains the meaning of that to His disciples and said, ” But as for the seed sown on good soil, this is the person who hears the word and understands. He bears fruit, yielding a hundred, sixty, or thirty times what was sown.” (Matthew 13 23). Beloved, no one can be productive with God’s word unless he or she understands the meaning of it. Without spiritual understanding the flesh (human nature) cannot stop to resist God. (Romans 8 : 7 – 8). But when you surrender to Jesus and yield yourself to the Holy Spirit, God will ‘prune you to produce His will’ through your life. Jesus ended His parabolic teaching to His audience with this thought – provoking statement, ” He who has ears, let him hear.” (Mat 13 : 9). Beloved, do you have ears to hear? Do you listen to the word of God with understanding? Are you being productive with the gospel of Jesus Christ? If not, make efforts to surrender to God today.
