Verse Of The Day : So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom. Psalms 90 : 12

LISTEN : Have you watched the television game show, “Who wants to be a millionaire?” In Nigeria, “who wants to be a millionaire?” is a game show based on the original British format of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? Here in Nigeria the game show is hosted by Frank Edoho, Sponsored by MTN Nigeria and Produced By Ultima Limited. One contestant is allowed to sit on the ‘hot seat’ at a time to answer questions that will qualify him or her for a win. But what I am interested about in the game is the countdown time. Immediately a question is put to a contestant, the host would say, “Your time starts now”. Then the time begins to count down. One’s ability to win or lose depend on what is done within the time allowed. That got me thinking about what I am doing with my time. What am I really doing with my time? Am I preparing for eternity (an endless life after death)?

Beloved, do you ask yourself what you are doing with your time? Do you know your time is ticking and counting down without you realising it? Truly, when one is born, one’s time on earth has been determined. Time begins to count down the moment you arrive in the world. (Eccles 3 : 2). But your eternal destiny is determined by what you do with your time. Looking at the frailty of man and shortness of life, Moses the godly man of God prayed, ” So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.” (Psalms 90 : 12). Beloved, wise living is the key to a great ending. When wisdom is undermined, life will lose its true meaning. Wisdom is the principal thing. (Proverbs 4 : 7). The path of wisdom is the path to life, peace and joy. Ultimately, wisdom prepares people for eternity. Friend, there is no real wisdom in anyone who thinks less of eternity and more of this world. Henceforth, learn to live wisely as you prepare for eternity.
