Verse Of The Day : And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and get you into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell you of. Genesis 22 : 1 , 2

LISTEN : Faith and obedience to God comes with a huge price. It comes with making decisions against your own will. (Genesis 12 : 1 – 5). It comes with total surrender of yourself to God. It is a commitment to exist as a living and acceptable sacrifice to God. (Romans 12 : 1 , 2). This is why many are scared to take the path of faith. It is easier to make a decision you know your future is guaranteed, than making a decision the future appears to be very uncertain. People want to play safe, that is why we have too many people who are not ready for God today. They are not ready for the tough decision; that is, to give up selfishness in order to gain God. They find it difficult to starve the flesh to please God. With all their hearts, they hold unto their will at the expense of God’s. Beloved, what tough decision is God prompting you to make today? What path is He asking you to take? What ungodly association is He asking you to cutoff? What are you doing about it?

Every follower of God has a tough decision to make to graduate as a true believer. Prior to the message in our verse of the day, Abraham was asked by God to leave his people and his country to a place He will show him. God promised him a unique child from his barren wife, Sarah. Abraham left his people and country by faith, not knowing what the future looks like ; but only embraced the future by faith in God. It was a tough decision for him to leave a known place to an unknown place. As if that was not enough, after his many years of waiting for the promised child Isaac, the child finally came, causing Abraham to rejoice exceedingly. Sadly, the word of God came again asking him to sacrifice Isaac to Him. What a tough decision to make! I imagined Abraham totally devastated, seeing that both himself and Sarah were already old and weak. However, he obeyed God and sacrificed Isaac, knowing that God is able to bring him back to life. He was not disappointed. His obedience to God secured for him the future God has prepared for him and his descendants. Beloved, are you prepared for the tough decision to follow Jesus Christ? If not, what are you waiting for? Be wise and do that today. (2 Corinthians 6 : 1 , 2).
