Verse Of The Day : Then people went out to see what had happened. They came to Jesus, and found the man from whom the demons had gone out, sitting at Jesus’ feet, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid. Those who saw it told them how he who had been possessed by demons was healed. Luke 8 : 35 , 36
LISTEN : Jesus Christ restored the sanity of a mad man to demonstrate His authority over Satan. Wisdom comes from God and so does sanity. Wisdom will be meaningless when sanity is taken away. Imagine yourself “out of your mind” for one week, will life still be the same? Of course not! We should thank God for sanity. That is, we should revere and appreciate Him for soundness or health of our minds; we should serve Him with our talents and abilities to express our joy for being sane and not insane. Beloved, do you know life will be useless when sound mind is lost. There was a mad man I encountered several years ago. He was very fluent in English language, but his clothing was tattered, and his reasoning was unsound. Then I asked to know who the man was, only to be told that he used to be a magistrate in the court of law before he lost his mind. I was amazed, and immediately realised that we (people with sound minds) are taking God’s grace for granted.
We should acknowledge God and channel our abilities, talents, resources, time and everything to projects that will glorify His name. God endowed a man by the name of Bezalel with wisdom to do all manner of work in the Tabernacle in line with God’s directives to Moses. The Bible says, “… See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah. He has filled him with the Spirit of God – with skill, with understanding, with knowledge, and in all kinds of work.” (Exodus 35 : 30 – 31). Bezalel faithfully led other skilled workers and they did the work of the Tabernacle perfectly as God instructed Moses. The Bible says,” Moses saw all the work, and behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them.” (Exodus 39 : 43) Beloved, how are you serving God with your endowments and resources? Are you dedicated to His service? Do you know you owe your wisdom and sanity to God? Henceforth, direct what you have towards God’s purpose. Be wise!
