Verse Of The Day : For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. Philippians 1 : 21
LISTEN : Beloved, can you declare your unreserved loyalty to God? Can you be God’s, whether dead or alive? Are you truly glorifying God with your life? Assuming your life in this world is to expire today, can you be glad to go back home to God who created you? In our verse of the day Apostle Paul declared his unchanging resolve for God. He said, “For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” (Philippians 1 : 21). What does he mean by that? He was simply saying that he lives in order to honor Christ with his life. (Galatians 2 : 20). But if he dies, that will be better for him, because then he will be completely and forever united with Christ Jesus. To a true believer in Christ Jesus, death is an opportunity to exit the wicked world and transit to a better place. Beloved, are you truly living for God or just for self? To live just for yourself is to live for nothing. (Mark 8 : 36 , 37).
He who abandons God to pursue the world will eventually discover that he has laboured in vain. Surely, those who live in this life just to please themselves at the expense of God, will exit this world to mourn and groan forever. Beloved, how do you know you are living just for yourself? It is simple. When you value your possessions more than God, you are living for yourself. When you cannot serve God and humanity with what you have, you are living just for yourself. When you can gladly trade your faith for “wealth and the pleasure” of this world, you are living for yourself. Conversely, those who live for God cannot trade God for anything. They can give up anything for God, but cannot give up God for anything. Be wise!
Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. No matter what, do not give up your faith for anything, rather, be strong in faith.
2. Do not live for yourself, instead, determine to live for God.
3. Never trade God for wealth or fame, because you will lose them without God.
4. Determine to live for God whether dead or alive.

TOPIC : DETERMINE TO LIVE BY FAITH
Thursday, June 7, 2018
Bible Verse : For we live by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5 : 7
LISTEN: Life is a “battle field; ” as a result, everyday casualty is recorded. However, God is urging you to have faith, so that He will assist you in these battles of life. When Satan comes, he comes to kill, steal and destroy. (John 10:10). His intention is to leave you miserable and heartbroken. Beloved, when you lost your child, your marriage, job, business, loved one, health, etc., did you know the devil’s intentions was to see you give up on life and die unfulfilled? But I have good news for you, it is not yet over with you, God is still working for you behind the scenes ; and the raging battles of your life will soon be over as you call on God for intervention. (Psalms 18: 3). Beloved, you are not alone. God is with you. He will revive and refresh you with abundant life when the battle is over. (John 10:10b). My dear, be strong and learn to live by faith, not by sight. (2 Cor.5: 7). To live by faith is to anchor your hope in God. It is to believe God for the impossible (Luke 1: 37). Besides, it means to believe that whatever you are going through will soon be over. Henceforth, do not be distracted by what you see around you, instead, trust in the LORD and you will certainly receive divine intervention. Be wise!
