Author : Bishop Julius Okarike

Verse Of The Day : Take heed brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God Hebrews 3 : 12

LISTEN : In his admonition to the people of God, Apostle Paul urged them to be watchful lest they be tempted to depart from God. He said, “Take heed brethren.” That is, to give consideration or attention to the ways of their hearts. He warned them against worldliness and the desire to please their flesh. To achieve this, they are to beware of unbelief – an attitude of doubt especially in Matters of religious faith. They are to be careful how they handle matters of faith lest they deviate from following God. Besides, they are to watch their cravings and order them in line with the will of God. Beloved, it is possible for a person who is not spiritually minded to abandon God in favour of the world. Friend, when last did you examine the desires of your heart? Are they in line with the Word of God? Beloved, beware of developing an evil heart. An evil heart is born, when you no longer watch what your heart craves for. My dear, you should know whether the desire of your heart is good or bad. You can do that by examining your life regularly and guarding against Satan’s deceit. The Bible says, “keep your heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life”. (Proverbs 4:23). Beloved, watch it when you discover that the word of God and spiritual things no longer matter to you anymore. Pray fervently that you do not make room for an evil heart of unbelief in your life. Be wise!

Bible Verse : Listen, the time is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each of you to his own home, and you will leave me all by myself. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me. John 16:32

LISTEN : Prior to his arrest and subsequent trial and crucifixion, Jesus told His disciples what He was going to suffer, and He said, ” The time is coming, indeed it has come, when you will be scattered, each of you to his own home, and you will leave me all by myself. Yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me” (John 16 : 32). This is an encouraging message to anyone who believes in God but facing trials and loneliness. Beloved, when you are abandoned you are not alone. God is with you. Believe me, God is with you when everyone leaves you all by yourself. When Jesus Christ was arrested and led away to be tried and crucified, His disciples ran away everyone to his own home as Jesus Christ predicted. They ran away and abandoned Him, but God was with Him. Beloved, do not think it strange when similar thing happens to you. Life is a teacher, just be calm and learn the lessons you can learn from every situation. Do not forget that in life you will certainly suffer loneliness at some point. Friends and loved ones may not be their for you all the time; but you should remember that you are not alone. (Psalms 27:10). Even if everyone abandons you, you can still turn to God. Beloved, cheer up! God is with you and He still cares. Be wise!

1. Pray and bless God for His love and the gift of life.
2. Ask for forgiveness and mercy.
3. Pray God to give you a heart of faith and courage to know that He is always with you.
4. Pray and destroy Satan’s plot against you, your family and others.
5. Ask God to grant you a good night sleep free from nightmares.

Today I prophesy to you, may God remember you. When people abandon you, may God be your support and strength, in Jesus’ name, amen.

God bless you. See you tomorrow.

  1. Looking at some other messages, or articles on this platform, I can not resist to have the impression you take Jesus to be God instead of accepting Jesus as the sent one from God, His prophet and His beloved son. I mean with that that you too seem to be a victim of the false Trinity teaching which entered this world in the 4the century.

But naturally before I reacted I had to have seen that you as a presiding Bishop of the Assemblies Of Christ Mission Int’l Inc (ACM) would belong to a trinitarian church, that assembly not belonging to a non trinitarian Assembly of Christ or real brothers of Christ. Sorry for having not noticed that. I only can hope that you as Bishop, having to be a worker for Christ and a worker for God, would one day come to accept Jesus as the son of man who really gave his life to do the Will of God and for offering himself as a ransom for the sins of many.

  2. My dear, I read your response to my July 25th 2018 post on “Beware of evil heart of unbelief.” In your reply you said that I took Jesus Christ as my god instead of taking him as my mediator. I don’t know what you meant by that. Can you throw more on that? Thanks!

  3. It is good and nice that you warn us to beware of unbelief – “an attitude of doubt especially in Matters of religious faith”, but than I find it strange that you do not belief that Jesus is the way to God and that he is the son and sent one from God. Because you seem to have taken Jesus as your god, instead of accepting him as the sent one from God who now is the mediator between God and man and a high priest before God.
