Verse Of The Day : Jabez called out to the God of Israel, “If only you would greatly bless me and expand my territory! May your hand be with me! Keep me from harm so I might not endure pain!” God answered his prayer. 1 Chronicles 4:10
LISTEN : We cannot talk about Jabez’s prayer without talking about the situation prior to his prayer. Jabez was born in pain. Perhaps pain as a result of his family tragedy or his mother’s predicament as she gives birth to him. He bears the name Jabez as a reminder of an ugly situation. His prayer in our verse of the day suggests that his family was a family of sorrow until he arrived. He grew up with his brothers in pain, but chose to change his story. He understood that his help can only come from God, therefore, went to God in prayer, pleaded his case, and got the answer. Jabez did not accept his situation as his fate, rather he sought solutions from God. He prayed to God because he believes that with God nothing is impossible. (Jeremiah 32:27). He made specific requests and got specific answers. Our verse of the day says, “Jabez called out to the God of Israel, ‘If only you would greatly bless me and expand my territory! May your hand be with me! Keep me from harm so I might not endure pain!’ God answered his prayer.” (1 Chronicles 4:10). I think Jabez’s situation is similar to what a lot of people are going through today. Like Jabez, life seems to be working against them. No manifestation of the blessings of God, instead, their lives seemed to be dominated by pain, reproaches, tragedies and terrible experiences. Beloved, is your case like Jabez’s case? Call to God today and He will answer you. Be wise!

TOPIC: WHAT GOD WANTS FROM YOU
Bible Verse : And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:28
LISTEN : God is mighty and above all else. He loves us dearly because He created us. Hence, He is worthy of worship and praise. And there is no better way to appreciate Him than to fear, obey, worship and honour Him. Sadly, a lot of people tend to fear men than God. The fear of God is fast disappearing from the hearts of men today. Beloved, where is the fear of God in your heart? If God is your creator, where is His honour? God’s problem with the Israelites was their lack of fear and honour for Him. They were ready to fear men, than fear God. My dear, do you know that human wisdom is measured by the fear of God? (Job 29:29 ; Pro 9:10). And anyone who lacks the fear of God is empty of real life? Friend, always examine your fear for God. How much fear and love do you have for Him? Are you putting His interest above yours? Or yours above His? Joseph, though, a slave boy in Potiphar’s house in Egypt, yet, demonstrated the fear of God when his master’s wife asked to sleep with him. He clearly refused and said, “…how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Gen 39:9). Beloved, determine to honour and fear God always, and remember that He is worthy of worship, fear and honour. Be wise!
1. Thank the Lord for the gift of life.
2. Ask God for forgiveness and restoration.
3. Pray for wisdom to fear and honour God.
4. Pray and cancel every evil plot against you today.
Today I prophesy to you, may God give you a heart of wisdom, honour and fear for Him, in Jesus ‘ name, amen.
