Verse Of The Day : Now he that plants and he that waters are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour. 1 Corinthians 3:8

LISTEN : God created everyone to serve a given purpose (Jeremiah 1:4,5). Some are created to plant, while others are created to water what is planted. Those who plant are people who initiate wonderful ideas, projects, etc. They pioneer what others follow. On the other hand, those who water what is planted are people who enhance and facilitate the success and sustainability of wonderful ideas and projects initiated by others. They serve to keep a good work alive. They do not watch initiatives and projects die under their watch. Beloved, whether you are a “planter” or a “waterer”, no service is too small if it is done to please God. Though, everyone cannot render the same amount of service, yet, every sincere service no matter how small matters to God. Whatever service you render to God and humanity God acknowledges it. He knows when you serve sincerely in His name. Whether you are “planting or watering”, your reward awaits you. Our Bible verse says, “Now he that plants and he that waters are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.” (1 Corinthians 3:8). My dear, your labour and service are important to God. In our verse of the day Apostle Paul told his audience that both himself (who plants the gospel in their hearts) and Apollos (who waters it to grow their faith) were working together to the glory of God. In the same way, we should work together in our various capacity to fulfill God’s purpose in the earth. When you serve, serve heartily because every service no matter how small matters to God. Be wise!

Having read today’s devotional, what is expected of you?
1. Whatever service you render to God or humanity do it sincerely.
2. Serve faithfully and remember that God acknowledges your labour and service.
3. Whether you serve as one who plants or one who waters, do it heartily and with the fear of God.
4. Be prepared to serve knowing that you are created to serve God and humanity.

Prayer : Heavenly Father, I thank you for opening my eyes today to your words. Help me to serve you faithfully, and to serve others with the whole of my heart, amen.

Reflection : Though, everyone cannot render the same amount of service, yet, every sincere service no matter how small matters to God.

Quote : No service or labour is too small if it is done to please God.

Faith Confession : Today, I confess that God honours faithful service. Therefore, I will serve Him and humanity as long as I live, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Biblical Fact : Did you know Abraham was 75 years old when he departed from Haran? (Genesis 12:4).

Today In History : September 26, 1777 The British army launches a major offensive, capturing Philadelphia.

Stunning Fact : Did you know a banana contains 75% water?

Prophetic Declaration : You will make a difference. Today I prophesy to you, may you not fail to serve God and humanity with what you have. May the blessings of service locate you, in Jesus’ name, amen.

Bible Verse : And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Ezekiel 22:30

LISTEN: If we can groan in prayer we can save ourselves and our people. Every land needs people who have passion for Intercession. When God is angry with a people, He expects someone to sense the danger and move to stop it. Sadly, our land is consumed with evil because no one seems to care about what is happening. No one is prepared to intercede for the erring majority in the world. In the days of Prophet Ezekiel, God warned the Israelites of imminent danger, just the same way He is warning us today. Like them, we do not heed His warnings, nor do we often act as required. In our bible verse, God trusts prophet Ezekiel to deliver a warning message to Judah and Jerusalem. Demanding that someone should sense the danger and “stand in the gap” for the land to avert His (God’s) wrath. In the same way, who is ready to “stand in the gap” to stop God’s wrath today? Could I be that “one man” God is looking for? Or you? My dear, time is running out. Let us look around and wake up to the reality that our families, churches, communities, nation, and the world are in great need of people to rise and pray to avert the wrath of God! Beloved, rise and let us pray to save our people. If we cannot rise to pray now, we will regret our actions when evil invade us. Be wise!

1. Pray and bless God for provision and protection.
2. Ask God for forgiveness and mercy.
3. Ask God to strengthen you for prayer and Intercession.
4. Pray and destroy all satanic plans against you, and the body of Christ around the world.
5. Pray for peace of mind, good sleep and faith to be saved.

May the Lord equip you for prayer. May the grace to stand in the gap for others be released to you, amen.
