Author : Bishop Julius Okarike
Verse Of The Day : Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Luke 23:34
LISTEN : Our sins were forgiven because of Jesus Christ. God demonstrated His love through Him, and by His death God can forgive even the worst of sinners (Romans 5:8). Beloved, God loves you and will not want to hold anything against you. His love gives birth to His forgiveness; for whom He loves He forgives and restores. His love can pacify His anger no matter what. Jesus Christ was led to Golgotha (a place of the skull) to be crucified. When His accusers had perfected their evil plan to crucify Him, they mocked, scourged Him and nailed Him to the cross. However, despite His agony on the cross, He asked the Father to forgive their ignorance (sin). The Bible says, “When they came to the place that is called The Skull, they crucified him there with the criminals, one on the right and the other on the left. And Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:33,34). As humans, it is easier to forgive minor offenses, but very difficult to forgive when one is badly hurt. Jesus was badly hurt, yet, He sought forgiveness and peace for those who tormented Him. When He made this prayer on the cross while in pain, He had everyone of us in mind. Beloved, you were in His plan of salvation when He died on the cross. When He forgave His accusers for their ignorance, it means He forgave both past, present and future sinners. Today we are saved and blessed by His love to live for Him. What a wonderful Saviour we have in Jesus! My dear, is there someone you have not forgiven? Determine to forgive because God forgave you through Christ Jesus. Learn to forgive others and God will forgive you too. Be wise!

TOPIC: FEAR THE LIVING GOD
Bible Verse : And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the LORD, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding. Job 28:28
LISTEN : God is above all and should be honoured and revered above all else. He loves us and wants us to love Him in return; and there is no better way to appreciate Him than to fear, obey, worship and honour Him. The wise fears God, but not so with the foolish and ungodly. The fear of God is fast disappearing from the hearts of men today. Beloved, where is the fear of God in your heart? If God is your creator, where is His honour? God’s problem with the Israelites was their lack of fear and honour for Him. They were ready to fear men, than fear God. Beloved, do you know that human wisdom is measured by the fear of God? (Job 29:29 ; Pro 9:10). Anyone who lacks the fear of God is empty of real life. My dear, always examine yourself and strive to have the fear of God in your heart. How much fear and love do you have for God? Are you putting His interest above yours? Or yours above His? Joseph was a slave boy in Potiphar’s house in Egypt, yet, he demonstrated the fear of God when his master’s wife asked to sleep with him. He clearly refused and said, “…how then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” (Gen 39:9). Beloved, determine to honour and fear God always. Be wise!
1. Thank the Lord for today and the gift of life.
2. Ask God for forgiveness and restoration.
3. Pray for wisdom to fear and honour God.
4. Pray and cancel every evil plot against you.
A WORD OF BLESSING
Today I speak into your life, may God cause you to have a heart of wisdom, honour and fear for Him, in Jesus’ name, amen.
