Verse Of The Day : Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get you out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father’s house, unto a land that I will show you. So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran. Genesis 12:1,4

LISTEN : If you wait for full details to begin, you will not follow God’s instructions. Those who wait for full details find it difficult to follow the voice of God. When God called Abraham, He asked him to leave his country, kindred, and his father’s house; but did not tell him where exactly He was taking him to. The Bible says, “Now the LORD said to Abram, “Go out from your country, your relatives, and your father’s household to the land that I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1). Abraham obeyed God without knowing the full details of the journey. By faith He followed God’s command not knowing where he was going. The Bible says,” By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to go out to a place he would later receive as an inheritance, and he went out without understanding where he was going.” (Hebrews 11:8). Beloved, are you obeying and following God by faith or waiting to understand Him first? Please do not wait to understand God, just obey Him. For every task He gives you, He will explain it in detail to you as you progress in obedience. If you refuse to follow His instructions He will never reveal the big picture to you. Abraham found favour with God because his faith and obedience to God was very uncommon. He never questioned God’s orders, instead he obeyed Him not minding the consequences. My dear, are you prepared to walk with God in 2019 and beyond, like Abraham did? Are you ready to stretch your faith in God? If yes, then you are ready for greatness. Abraham obeyed God and was not disappointed. Therefore, if you obey God with all your heart you will not be disappointed too. Be wise!

EVENING

TOPIC : GIVE FREELY TO THE POOR AND NEEDY

Wednesday, January 2, 2019

Bible Verse : The one who is gracious to the poor lends to the LORD, and the LORD will repay him for his good deed. Proverbs 19:17

LISTEN : We are commanded to give generously because we receive everything from God. Sadly, a lot of people hate and despise the poor. They dehumanised them because they are poor. But as a God fearing person, you should be generous to them knowing that God sees everything we do. The Bible says that the poor will not cease in the land (Deut 15:11) , therefore, they should be graciously assisted by all. We should show some pity to those who are destitute and hurting. We should give to others to relieve their pains. God has variously shown us His favours. Therefore, we should extend same to others. We should stop being selfish and begin to be sacrificial. Friend, the Day you stop to live just for yourself is the day you have started to live for God. Learn to always consider the poor and needy. God is concerned about them, and so should we. Give to others what you will want them give to you. Jesus Christ said, “In everything, treat others as you would want them to treat you, for this fulfill the law and the prophets.” (Matthew 7:12) . Beloved, how will you like others to treat you? Treat them like that too. Be compassionate to the poor, for what you do for them you do to God. Surely, God will repay what you give up to make others comfortable, especially the poor and needy. Learn to be gracious, because being gracious is a mark of godliness. It is an expression of the nature of God. So, let us help those who are in need as we have the opportunity today. Be wise!
