Verse Of The Day : Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
LISTEN : You cannot carry a heavy load on your head and expect to feel lighter. Surely, a heavy load must release pressure on the bearer. Therefore, to feel lighter one must drop the load. Friend, if you have been under a heavy load, you will know how it feels. There was a certain old woman who was returning from a trip very tired, and bearing a heavy load on her head. She was walking side by side with an unknown muscular man. And when the man perceives she was in pain he said, “Mama, please let me help you with the load.” The man was shocked to hear the old woman said, “My son, please do not bother, I can handle it.” But as they walked along, it was not long the woman’s legs started wobbling and her body dripped with sweat, as she staggered to fall. The muscular man rushed towards her and screamed, “Mama, give me the load, I beg you!” And the woman reluctantly handover the load to him. As they walked along, she looked at the man, smiled and said, “I feel lighter now.” Sadly, some of us are like the old woman in this story. They are prepared to die with their burdens instead of taken them to God. Beloved, God can take care of your burdens (1 Peter 5:7). It is a spiritual law that when you cast your burdens on God’s shoulders, He carries them for you, and surely you will feel lighter and have greater strength. Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Matthew 11:28). My dear, the rest your soul is yearning for can only be found in Christ. Our souls can never find rest outside God. Therefore, let us return to God the Bishop of our souls. Remember, with God you can feel lighter no matter the load. Be wise!

TOPIC : TOO LATE

Bible Verse : And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. Luke 16:31
LISTEN: It will be too late to obtain salvation when your life on the earth is ended. As a matter of fact, delay is dangerous. In His message to His audience, concerning the rich man and Lazarus the miserable poor begger. Jesus described the luxury enjoyed by the rich man when he was alive, and the misery Lazarus went through, which the rich man saw but never helped. He further narrated that, both of them eventually died (the rich man and Lazarus), Lazarus was carried to the bosom of Abraham (a place of comfort, bliss, rest, paradise); but the rich man was buried and thereafter found himself in hell. Despite the befitting burial given to him, he was in torment in hell and languishing in misery. (Luke 16:19-31). Having found out that his own case had no remedy, he demanded that someone be sent from the dead to warn his five brothers lest they come to join him in hell. But his request was rejected. The Bible says, “If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.” (Luke 16:31). The gospel of Christ is being preached everyday, yet, the hearts of many are hardened. They are never convinced about the gospel of the kingdom of God. They choose to dwell in unbelief to their own detriment. Beloved, are you disobeying the word of God? Do you want someone from the dead to convince you about the reality of hell? Please do not be deceived, rather open your heart to God. Remember, tomorrow may be too late. Be wise!
Prayer : Mighty and Everlasting Father, I thank you for the opportunity to be saved. Help me to abide in you for the rest of my life, in Jesus’ name, amen!
