Verse Of The Day : If a man dies, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come. Job 14:14

LISTEN : You Cannot survive the pressure of this life unless you are determined to be courageous, patient, hopeful and resilient. Besides, you cannot express all of these virtues if you are not willing to live by faith in God. No doubt, life will give you pressure, but faith in God will ease your burdens (Matthew 11:28-30). My dear, do not waste your life worrying about your problems, instead, spend your time in fellowship with the Spirit of God. When you bother yourself unnecessarily about life, you will wish to end it before it actually ends. A story is told of a Pastor who decides to commit suicide because of his nagging wife who has made his life a living hell. He became so confused that he decided to end his life. One day, when his wife and children were still asleep, he woke up and headed to the river to drown himself. As he was walking along, he heard a voice from behind, laughing at him “ha-ha” and said, “Look at him, he called himself a Pastor but he cannot endure pressure and afflictions.” The Pastor turned around to see who was talking, and was shocked to find out that a mad man was the one talking; he ignored him and moved on. As he was approaching the river the mad man spoke again and said, “Look at him, a Pastor who wants to drown himself because of problems. Between the two of us, who is the mad man? I have a problem but I never wish to kill myself like you foolish man. Why do you want to kill yourself? Go back home and face your problems with your faith.” As he turned around to confront the mad man, he saw no one. Immediately, he changed his mind and hurriedly returned home. Beloved, do not kill yourself for a problem you can possibly fix. Even if you cannot fix it, God can. Your condition cannot be as bad as Job’s. Yet he said, “If a man dies, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.” (Job 14:14). So, have faith in God and never kill yourself for what could be fixed. Be wise!

TOPIC : GOD IS OUR REST

Wednesday, February 27, 2019

Bible Verse : Return to your rest, O my soul; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you. Psalms 116:7

LISTEN : God Almighty is our rest. There is no rest or peace for anyone who abandons God. God created us in His own image and breathe upon us the breath of life. Therefore, to live without Him is to live without life. No matter what we do we should always return to Him. David said, ” Return to your rest, O my soul; for the LORD has dealt bountifully with you.” (Psalms 116:7). David realised that he cannot enjoy peace and rest if he disconnects himself from God. Hence he vows to return to God. In the same way, as people of God we should know that, it is in stopping to rest in our Lord Jesus Christ that we find our strength. Jesus Christ offers to give us rest (Mathew 11:28-30). Therefore, to reject His invitation is to embrace frustration and destruction. So, come to Jesus Christ today and find rest for your soul. Be wise!

Prayer : Almighty God, help me to find rest for my soul and to live in obedience to you for the rest of my life, amen.
