Verse Of The Day : One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life… Psalms 27:4

LISTEN : We have failed, no matter our supposed ‘successes’ if we fail the test of God. God’s test for us is the test of genuine love, worship, service, honour, obedience, faithfulness and fear for Him (Luke 10:27). The desire to please God, worship and serve Him with fear for the rest of our lives should be topmost to us. This means that, our desire to please God should overshadow other interests we have. That is, our interests should rather draw their strength and support from our desire to please God. And our desire to please God should reflect in the way we do our businesses, pursue our careers, academics, marriages, finance, ministries, relationships, etc. This is not to say that, we should lose interest in other areas of life, but that our love for God should guide everything we do and drive our actions. This is what characterised David’s life (to worship and serve God all the days of His life). He said, “One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life…” (Psalms 27:4). David achieved his desire to worship and serve God because he was willing to worked hard to fulfil it. Like David, we should hunger to do the will of God. My dear, there will be no joy at the end of life, if it is lived just for self and self alone. Therefore, let your desire to please God drive your life henceforth. Remember, the desire to please God is the greatest desire. So, pursue it. Be wise!

TOPIC : BE GLAD AND REJOICE IN GOD

Friday, March 1, 2019

Bible Verse : I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. Psalms 9:2

LISTEN : Joy is a feeling of great happiness. But it cannot be sustained unless our hope is anchored on God. Joy is not a choice but a must. If you must live and thrive in life you must determine to be joyful. No matter the circumstance, your decision to be joyful should be non negotiable. No matter what comes to break your heart, you should be prepared to rise above it. My dear, true joy is not the absence of troubles, tragedies or obstacles, but the determination to look beyond your challenges and rejoice in God’s faithfulness and love no matter what. Like David, we should be happy in all situations no matter what. Besides, we should praise God regardless of any situation. David said, “I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High.” (Psalms 9:2). Beloved, may God fill your heart with joy in all circumstances, in Jesus’ name, amen!

Prayer : Everlasting Father, you are good and loving. Help me to rejoice always no matter what, amen!
